"He will be much stronger" - Lito Adiwang believes Rodtang will be a whole different monster if he moves up to bantamweight

Lito Adiwang thinks Rodtang could move up

Lito Adiwang believes that one of the best strikers in the world could take his game up to another level if he made one adjustment.

Rodtang Jitmuangnon has been considered to be one of the best in the world for a long time now. His reign as the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion has turned him into a global star in combat sports, helping to bring Muay Thai to the masses.

Despite some setbacks in recent times, the Thai superstar is still seemingly at the top of his game but Adiwang believes he could progress.

The strawweight MMA contender thinks that 'The Iron Man' would benefit from going up a weight class where he would be more powerful, durable and cut less weight in his training camps.

Lito Adiwang pointed to Jonathan Haggerty's success up at bantamweight as his reasoning in a recent exclusive interview with Sportskeeda MMA:

"I believe he will be much stronger as a bantamweight. We see how cutting weight has affected fighters. We've seen it in Jonathan Haggerty - he's a big example of this. He couldn't get past Rodtang in the flyweight division, and while he was still good against others, he was even stronger when he moved up. I think it will be the same for Rodtang. Talking about Jonathan, he beat him before, so it could be interesting to see the rematch happen at a different weight class."

Lito Adiwang provides a good theory for Rodtang

Lito Adiwang is right to use Jonathan Haggerty as a good example to back up his point about Rodtang Jitmuangnon.

Considering that the likes of his former opponents in Haggerty and Superlek are now both competing at the weight class above, we could see 'The Iron Man' make this jump in order to face either man in the near future.

For the time being, flyweight remains his home and he's back to defend his crown on Nov. 8 at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

A rematch with Jacob Smith at ONE 169 is next for him but bantamweight could be an option in the future for the reasons that Adiwang laid out.
